I'm talking to fellow Democrats, not the Party as an organization. You are right, it's not an official statement from the Party, pete's just a silly comment on a blog. However, that's precisely what I'm talking about. If we Democrats, meaning members of the Party, not the Party itself, want to take the high road, then we should actually take the high road not just in official press releases, but in comments on blogs, comments to our friends, and comments about opponents (not referring to the blog post). Sounds like "pete" is a Democrat, but he may not be. It's the mentality that it's okay to call a female candidate a witch as long as she's a Republican. Not ok. Too many men, whether they are in leadership positions or just the rank and file find this acceptable, Republican or Democrat. They may not type official memos with this attitude, but they certainly find it ok to bash women not on the clock sometimes. I'm just telling male Dems to check themselves before they think they're so accepting if they are posting comments like that on a party blog.

Female Dem,

If you are who you say you are, then I suggest you direct your comment to the anonymous commenter "pete" above who made the witch comment. The post mentions nothing of the sort. You shouldn't infer that just because some anonymous commenter makes a silly comment that its the party talking. If you want the comment removed then contact an officer listed on the officer page, tell 'em who you are, and tell 'em why. Its simple.

Let's stay away from criticizing her voice or calling her a witch. Those are typical attacks on women in politics, whether it's Hillary Clinton or Sarah Palin. Criticize her stance, corruption etc, not her gender. If the Dems want to be the party of inclusion and get women to the polls, we had better ACT like it. Keep it in mind if you want my money and my vote.

I hear ole .50 Cal is having trouble at the factory... laying off workers and whatnot. Sounds like Mr. Small Biz Barett needs to worry about himself before worrying about others.

As a Republican, I wish I could comment on this story on our own website, but we don;t have a blog so I'll have to comment on the website of a party that I don't vote for (thanks Lou Ann). Anyway, like I said I'm a Republican, but I for one am glad to see Lou Ann go. She's made Republicans look like a great big joke in this county with those over-the-top tea parties. For the sake of the Rutherford County Republican Party, I just hope that one of her servants like Christian Hidalgo or Tim Rudd don't take over and take her orders!
