Lou Ann Zelenick Thinks Rural Voters Can’t Read A Dictionary

Add to Google

It’s easy to see how Lou Ann Zelenick comes to the conclusions she does when you read her latest brilliant analysis of an article that appeared in Roll Call today.

In the Roll Call article, Rep. Bart Gordon dismissed the notion that race played a major part in Obama losing the 6th District instead suggesting  it was more due to Obama being too “urbane” for voters.

Obama “seemed to be too urbane” for 6th district voters, Gordon said. “If you’re from some of those small counties, [Obama was] some guy from Chicago that speaks differently than you.”

Gordon acknowledged that racism was also a factor in Obama’s performance in the district.

“Unfortunately, there was probably a little bit of that, but it was more just being urbane,” Gordon said.

Zelenick, expecting rural voters would mistake “urbane” (meaning too polished) with “urban” (meaning inner-city), claimed Gordon was calling people racist.

Addressing Gordon’s charge of racism, Zelenik said, “I cannot imagine what would lead a Congressman to insult his constituents in this manner. The idea that Tennesseans vote based on race is a suggestion I reject entirely. The suggestion that Tennesseans are racists is particularly disturbing when it comes from a person who is supposed to represent our values.

Perhaps Zelenick would care to explain why she doesn’t know the difference between “urbane” and “urban” and apologize to rural voters for thinking we couldn’t figure it out. Bart Gordon has never lost a single county in the 6th District, while Ms. Zelenick was rejected by her own party for a mere state house seat that included only a small part of her own county. It’s easy to see why.

What a wonderful article! It should be clear that Louann is only trying to talk as much as she can for the purpose of hearing her own voice. I, for one, think that the more she talks the more people will realize what a complete and utter train wreck she is. While it is true her own district would not even vote her into the state house, I think it definitely speaks volumes for the smarts of those in her district. Now, we just have to face off with that other mess that beat her out. Some winner he was.

hold on there pete, let’’s not give republican voters in the 48th district too much credit for rejecting Lou Ann. They ended up backing Joe Carr, an unemployed hothead who’s decided to make a career out of passing liquor bills. Think about it, Lou Ann couldn’t even beat HIM even though she outspent him 4-1!

    That poor microphone!

As a Republican, I don’t appreciate the political posturing from Lou Ann. She lost a State House Primary after sinking tens of thousands of her own dollars into it and - in the process - spread rumors and lies about her primary opponent. Now she’s twisting Gordon’s words to score political points. I am - by not stretch of the imagination - a fan of Bart Gordon, but this woman has to stop. If the Republicans want to defeat Gordon next year, I assure you that she is not the one to do it.

When the voters of Rutherford County went to the polls to chose between Lou Ann Zelenick and Joe Carr in her pathetic bid for the State House, the voters decided an unemployed crook would be far better than Lou Ann Zelenick and they sent her home defeated.

I wish Lou Ann would make a YouTube channel so we can all be reminded why her own party rejected her. The more she can be heard the more people will see why some call her the retarded witch of the Rutherford County Republican Party.

Jeremy, you are entitled to say what you want but it would be nice if you can refrain from name calling. We all know what some disgruntled Republicans call Lou Ann but we don’t need to repeat that kind of stuff here.

  7. A Republican says:

I didn’t know she was called the Retarded Witch. That’s cute.

  8. Pete says:

    Dearest All:
If we don’t talk about things like that here, then we will only talk about them other places. I, for one, think retarded witch is much better than some of the other things I have heard her be called. For another, if you were to ever hear some of the things that she says and does to those closest to her, you would realize that being called retarded witch is a compliment. This is not a person who would ever be working for anyone but herself. And, yes, while I know that Joe Carr is as crooked as a question mark, at least the voters realized she would be an even greater injustice to their benefit. This is a woman who has created a tear in her party loyal (Thank-You!) and doesn’t have the slightest clue what she is doing. I also want to say that I have been very impressed by the actions of the new dem officers. They seem to have it together as a cohesive unit, which will be so important in the tear ahead.

Actually, Lou Ann Zelenick is as fine a public speaker and has been taking lessons from the last great Republican communicator, George W Bush.
