Rep. Joe Carr (R-Lascassas) told Channel 4 today that he is refusing a request by voters to return thousands of dollars he recently told the Tennessean he “inadvertently” took from the tax payers and now claims he’s “entitled” to it.
Rep. Carr also told Channel 4 he took over $18,000 (more than any other lawmaker) in expenses to pay for hotel rooms, but no one seems to understand why he’d need that much money when he lives less than an hour from the state Capitol.
In the video above, Rep. Carr couldn’t explain how he “inadvertently” drove himself to the bank to “inadvertently” cash 13 weeks worth of bogus meal and hotel expense checks.
Joe had the nerve to challenge his fellow big spending county Republicans to join him in not accepting anymore expense claims for the entire calendar year after we caught him with his hand in the tax payer’s pocket.
At the same time Rep. Carr was writing his own personal stimulus checks he’s now refusing to return, he had the nerve to try to pass a bill to deny extended unemployment benefits to residents in his district.
It’s time the voters of Lascassas introduce Joe Carr to the unemployment line come 2010.

Why do you think Lou Ann is smarter than the two of you and isn’t taking our little “hay seed’s” bait? Maybe she realizes she’d have three T.V. stations asking her why her entire Republican delegation has out spent Kent Coleman. Maybe Lou Ann is smarter than you and realizes Ketron, Tracy and Rowland would rip her a new pie whole if she pours more gasoline on this little hay seed fire. Let’s hope she isn’t smarter than you and is waiting for Monday so we can have another week of fun on the T.V. news!

It’s 12:21am CST and Lou Ann still hasn’t issued a press release demanding Kent Coleman return all of his per diem. Where’s your party’s leader, Charlie and Bill? If she doesn’t want to because she’s smarter than you I just thought of another idea. Get Sen. Bill Ketron or Sen. Jim Tracy or Rep. Donna Rowland to step in and do it for her. You think they would be willing to toss some more gas on this hay seed fire for the tax payers of Rutherford County, or are they content to have out spent Kent Coleman?
Tennessee Republicans have no moral center. They will defend any disusting behavior that a Republican gets invovled with. Screw your interns or screw the taxpayers. It’s all good with Tennessee Republicans.
Carr ought to return all that money because he lives a stone’s throw away from Nashville. He doesn’t spend $850 a week on gas, food, and hotel rooms . . . If he does, he’s up to something . . . Carr is simply ripping off the taxpayers. If he had any decent upbringing, he’d give the money back.
Bill and Charlie, does the TNGOP pay your well? Which one of you wrote that half-assed press release you put out? Try reading a grammar textbook before you write another.
You guys and Chris Devaney should go back to playing grab-ass at the TNGOP office and quit defending Carr. Face it, the moron said he is “entitled” to $850 a week to drive from Lascassas to Nashville and back. That’s bulls**t and you know it.

Here it is Monday morning and still no press release from Rutherford County’s Republican party Chairwoman LouAnn Zelenick demanding Kent Coleman return all his per diems. I hope she isn’t failing the Tea Party wing of the county’s Republican Party she rallied earlier this year.
Can anyone figure out why LouAnn doesn’t want to demand Kent Coleman return all his per diem? Charlie or Bill, how’s your effort coming to get LouAnn to show some leadership?
