Gov. Bredesen calls TN GOP budget plan what it is - “stupid”

Gov. Phil Bredesen used one word to describe the budget plan cobbled together at the last minute by state Republican lawmakers: “Stupid.”

State Republicans propose major cuts in education, health care, and jobs after wasting several months on abortion, guns and booze legislation and ignoring the priorities of working families.

Tennessee Republicans have also proposed knocking Tennessee off the top of another good list by cutting funds to our state’s nationally recognized leadership in clean energy jobs. In a report released today by the Pew Environment Group, Tennessee ranks 3rd in the nation for creating clean energy jobs.

The GOP proposal would remove funding for the state to acquire land for a West Tennessee megasite that would be used to attract large manufacturers and more jobs to the state.

It would also scuttle Bredesen’s plan to spend $62 million in federal stimulus money to build a solar generation plant at the site near Brownsville and establish a solar research institute at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

One of the bad lists Tennessee tops is infant mortality rates. Rather than save the lives of babies and enhance the quality and culture of life in Tennessee, Republicans propose to cut needed funding to fix the problem.

“Some of these cuts are personal. The House spent two months talking about abortion this year, and now we’ve got a budget cut to eliminate the infant mortality money. That borders on being hypocritical as to what you believe in, whether you are pro-family or pro-life. It’s a study on infant mortality. It’s a study on how to keep these babies alive. I’ve got zip codes in my hometown with infant mortality rates of Third World countries. We’ve got to figure out how to stop that and we don’t need to wait until we’ve got a budget surplus to do it.”

Check back later for more focus on the role Rutherford County’s Republican delegation is playing in the state party’s proposed cuts in education, health care and jobs.

Of course the Republicans want to kill this. After all a majority of the cut for energy is actually being funded by that evil stimulus package. Just like the US Congress that was controlled by these Yahoos these fools are just as short sighted . They are also cutting an industrial park in west TN after all we don’t want another large manufacturing concern moving into that part of the State do we…

Of course these droolers ( Droolers ; noun one who drools while screaming about how awful the other side ideas are , adj describing most conservative Republicans ) Republicans want to kill the stimulus package. After all it might actually help the people of this State and that would put them at a politically disadvantage. I have a great idea, instead of making an industrial park in West TN we could make it into a free shooting range where all of these people, who are so afraid of living that they must carry a weapon 24/7 could actually fire at each other. With this new space available, lets call it the the Lamar training center , those armed cowards would actually know what it feels like to kill another human while feeling the terror of being in a fire fight.

I guess Pro-Life doesn’t mean much to Tennessee’s republicans. They only care about it when they can get votes from meaningless abortion bills that cost nothing. When it comes time to actually save BORN CHILDREN, they pull the plug.

If the right wing so called Christians actually followed Christ teachings instead of the old testament to condone their narrow view of life , they would be working to help the existing children who are already born. Alas, they worry so much about the unborn they just don’t have a lot of energy left for the living .

In a recent poll, it was reported that a majority of self-proclaimed Christians actually condoned the Republican torture machine that ran this Country. My goodness, to extrapolate that reasoning they would have had to condone the torture killing of Christ by the state.

For all the Right wing gun carrying scared little people out there- Which weapon would Christ be carrying -
