The libel suit is because the original blogger erroneously claimed Leahy committed "tax fraud." He has not committed any crime and the RCDP has never suggested or said Leahy has committed a crime. Leahy has acknowledge that "tax liens is an accurate statement," and that's is what is being reported here. It is a fact that Leahy has had tax liens, and it is a matter of public record as is Leahy's libel lawsuit.

"For you to point out the struggles of one man that has issues with the IRS is rich…"

Yeah, especially when that man is the republican front for a "grassroots" effort to whine about paying taxes, when he himself hasn't paid his taxes. rich...

Hmmm, seems like you might be next to be listed as a defendent as you are spreading the libel... typical democrat ploy...

btw, did you write about Tim Giethner, Tom Daschle, Charlie Rangel, Hilda Solis, Nancy Killefer et al - I'm sure you wrote a searing article about each and everyone and their non-tax paying pecidillos.. right?

''There's a huge scientific breakthrough today. Researchers say they're very close to finding someone from Obama's Cabinet who's actually paid their taxes,'' Jay Leno said on NBC's Tonight Show.

For you to point out the struggles of one man that has issues with the IRS is rich...

You will be writing many more articles if the US Gov't doesn't get ahold of itself and reign in spending... Americans far and wide will be lining up to be Olbermann’s “Worst Person In The World.”- a badge of honor considering the disguting depths you guys will dig to justify your pondscum politics...

Now, start at the top with The Elf, Geithner, and write a story about him, you know, the guy that runs the IRS but couldn't figure out how to run Turbo-Tax and fraudulently claimed his girl's summer camps as a buisness expense... get real

If you look at Bush's entire term, you'll see his budgets were just as large or larger with a republican congress for his first 6 years. In fact, Clinton handed Bush and the republicans a budget surplus with pay-as-you-go. Bush and the republicans promptly overturned the pay-as-you-go legislation and quickly drove the deficit to record heights. Facts are such pesky things, aren't they?

The article quote "record deficit spending" as if the democrats were concerned about that. This year's budget has a deficit that is 5 times that of last year's. And actually, it is Congress that spends the money. The President makes the proposal, Congress tweeks it to their liking. The last 2 years od President Bush's term is when the democrats were in control of Congress and spending. The economy was sailing along quite well until then. Don't you remember? Low interest rates, low inflation, great market returns. It started down in 2007. You can't argue with the charts. Saying it over and over again doesn't make it so.
